Guidelines dealing with Covid.

Thank you very much for staying with us. To make sure you could spend a pleasant time at our hotel, please read the following content.

• If you were not feeling well during your stay, please come and talk to the front desk staff right away.
• We would really appreciate it if you could put your mask on anywhere other than your room during your stay.
• Please check your body temperature and spray your hand when you come in from the main entrance.

Restaurant

• If breakfast or dinner was included in your staying plan, make sure you know the location of the restaurant (in case you can’t find it on the map, please come to the front desk and ask) and your dinning time, which is written down on your registration card we handed to you when you check in earlier.
• Please bring your breakfast ticket with you and give it to the restaurant staff when you are coming down for breakfast.
• No dinner tickets given out when you are checking in your room, just tell the restaurant staff later your name together with your room number when you go for dinner.

  For the guests who don’t have meals included, in case you would like to add it to your plan, please let us know at the front desk.

Check-out

• Check out time is 11.00am. As for Cotswold’s house, it is 30 minutes earlier, 10.30am.
• To save you some time, you could avoid the busy hours by having your room checked out any time when there is nobody lining up at the front desk.
• If you want, you can leave your luggage at our front desk after you check out.

Room key

• Please leave your room key at the front desk every time when you are ready to head out.
• In case you will come back after 24.00, please let us know at the reception, because we will lock the door up at 24.00 for safety reasons.

Safety box

• We don’t have safety box in our rooms. If you want to put your expensive items somewhere safe, please contact front desk.

Guest room

• You will find water boiler in your room filled with water from the tap. You can drink water straight from the tap here in Karuizawa, no worries about the hygiene issue. However, the water in the boiler is not boiled yet, press the button if you want to have boiled one.
• The mineral water in the fridge together with some tea bags and drip coffee we have prepared is for free.
• Please don’t wear the slippers and pajamas outside your room.
• To close the window in your room, please press the metal part (with a red dot on) which holds the window open while slowly close it up.

Free Rental

To make sure our guests could spend a great time here at our hotel, you can rent certain things out from the hotel for free. Please contact the front desk if you had any request for the following items.

Humidifier / blanket / pillows / bed guard / Hair curler /

Hair straight ironing / phone charger / diapers dumpster /

bed lamp / wheelchair / ironing machine and board

*Certain items might be unavailable due to the limited number.

Shuttle bus and Taxi

• We are operating the shuttle bus 4 times a day between the hotel and Karuizawa station during weekdays. Reservation is needed. For more information, contact the front desk.
• We could help you to call taxi at the front desk.

Room cleaning service

For the guests who are staying multiple nights with us, our hotel is implementing ECO cleaning system at the moment. We will hand you over the cleaning list with 5 options on when you are checking your room in. Please circle one of them up and give it to the front desk the next day before you go out. (Before 14.00)

Others

All rooms at Otowa are non-smoking rooms. We have a designated smoking area prepared for our guests who smoke.

• Lunch: 11.30~14.00 (LO)
• Dinner: 17.30~19.30(LO)

Japanese restaurant Otowa Tei opening hours.
